# After debuting the second-gen Creta at Auto Expo 2020, Hyundai is gearing up to launch the compact SUV on March 17. While the launch is still a couple of weeks away, we’ve got our hands on a document that reveals the engine and variant details of the upcoming SUV.

Unlike the current car -- which is offered in six variants: E+, EX, S, SX, X(O) and SX(O) Executive -- the 2020 Creta will be offered in five variants: E, EX, S, SX and SX(O).

(1) Both the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines will be offered with a 6-speed MT as standard.
(2) Where the 1.5-litre petrol unit will also get an option of CVT, the 1.5-litre diesel unit will be offered with an optional 6-speed torque converter unit.
(3) The 1.5-litre petrol engine will not be offered with a manual transmission in the top-spec variant
(4) A third, 1.4-litre turbo unit will also be on offer but it will be available with a 7-speed DCT only. In Seltos, the 1.4-litre turbo engine is available with a 6-speed manual transmission as well.
(5)Automatic options will only be available in the top two variants

2020 Hyundai Creta Powertrains: The 2020 Hyundai Creta will share its BS6 engines with the Kia Seltos -- a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol (115PS/144Nm), a 1.5-litre diesel (115PS/250Nm), and a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol (140PS/242Nm). A 6-speed manual transmission will be available with the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. The 1.5-litre petrol is offered with a CVT, whereas the diesel is offered with a 6-speed torque converter. The 1.4-litre turbo-petrol will be available with a 7-speed DCT only.

2020 Hyundai Creta Features: It will be offered with various premium features such as LED headlamps and tail lamps, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, power-adjustable driver’s seat, and ventilated front seats. There will also be a 7-inch driver’s display for the semi-digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, along with connected car tech.

2020 Hyundai Creta Safety: Safety features on offer in the 2020 Creta are six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear and front parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera.

2020 Hyundai Creta Rivals: When launched on March 17, the second-gen Hyundai Creta will take on the Kia Seltos, Renault Captur, Nissan Kicks, upcoming Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Vision IN SUV. With its premium pricing, its top variants will face competition from the likes of the Tata Harrier and MG Hector.
