Honda Activa 6G Latest Updates

Due to a faulty suspension bushing, Honda is recalling few units of the Activa 6G. The bushing was found to be leaking oil on to the rear wheel, leading to a potential safety hazard. Head here to know if your scooter is affected.
Honda launched the BS6-compliant version of India's favourite scooter, the Activa 6G, earlier this year. The scooter continues to arrive in two variants -- standard and deluxe -- with the latter trim getting a LED headlight. Prices for the Activa 6G start from Rs 63,912 while the deluxe model costs Rs 65,412. The similar trims on the older Honda Activa 5G cost Rs 55,934 and Rs 57,799 (all prices ex-showroom Delhi). Bookings and deliveries for the Activa 6G have begun for a while now.
The BS6-compliant 109.51cc single-cylinder fuel-injected motor produces slightly less and torque power than before. Essentially, the scooter makes 7.79PS at 8000rpm -- that’s 0.17PS less than the BS4 model at 500rpm higher. The peak torque output stands at 8.79Nm at 5250rpm, as opposed to the BS4-compliant scooter’s output of 9Nm at 5500rpm.
The Activa 6G gets a silent starter like the one in the Activa 125 BS6. The LED headlight has been carried over to this model as well, but is available only in the DLX variant. The scooter also gets an external fuel filler cap, making it the second scooter in the Activa lineup to have one, after the Activa 125 BS6. This makes refuelling a whole lot easier than using the underseat fuel cap. Other features include an engine kill switch and a pass button.
More importantly, the Activa 6G finally comes with a telescopic front fork. The rear gets a 3-step adjustable single rear shock absorber. Also, the scooter rolls on a bigger 12-inch front steel wheel and a smaller 10-inch rear steel wheel with 130mm drum brakes on both ends. In terms of rivals, competition comes from the only BS6-compliant 110cc scooter available at the moment, the TVS Jupiter Classic Edition.
