Maruti Swift price starts at Rs.5.14 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi) and the top end variant Maruti Swift AMT ZDI Plus is priced at Rs. 8.84 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). The Swift carries over its tried-and-tested 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engines. There’s no difference in power output either - the petrol makes 84PS and 114Nm whereas the diesel makes 75PS and 190Nm. What is new, however, is the fact that the Swift now gets an automated manual transmission both with the petrol and diesel engines. We loved thrashing the petrol Swift around; the thrummy, peppy engine can ensure quite a lot of giggles. The diesel, although not as much fun as the petrol, feels at home doing daily chores as well as weekend runs. We’ve road tested the diesel manual an 







New Maruti Suzuki Swift Preview

The third generation Maruti Suzuki Swift has been launched in the country with prices starting at Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The newest iteration of the hatchback is priced up to Rs 8.29 lakh for the range-topping variant. The new generation Maruti Suzuki Swift is available in both petrol and diesel engine options, and for the first time get the option of a diesel automatic as well. We drove the India spec model last month and came back very impressed with how much the car has evolved in its latest avatar. Deliveries for the new Swift will commence later this month, with the car already commanding a waiting period of six to eight weeks.

The new Maruti Suzuki Swift continues to house the same 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine. The car is going to be available in both manual as well as AGS (Auto Gear Shift) gearboxes. There will be a total of 12 variants to choose from - Lxi, Vxi, Vxi AGS, Zxi, Zxi AGS, and ZXi+ to be the petrol ones, and Ldi, Vdi, Vdi AGS, Zdi, Zdi AGS, and Zdi+ as the diesel counterparts. Automatic transmission will be available in the VXi and the ZXi models on both the fuel types.

2018 Maruti Suzuki Swift Design and Styling

The third generation Swift gets a completely new styling and looks more upmarket than the outgoing model. The A-pillar highlights the Swift's trademark styling, but the front grille is new, and the new sweptback headlamps look sleek and LED DRLs to give them a sporty look. Maruti Suzuki is also bringing in a host of new colours and there will be a total of six to choose from. The Prime Lucent Orange is the new colour on offer on the 2018 Swift.
